The verb *yegunnav* (יְגֻנָּב) is from the root *ganav* — to steal. The word *stole* to Eliphaz: it arrived clandestinely, uninvited, like a thief in the dark. The noun *shemets* (שֵׁמֶץ) means a barely audible whisper, a thin fragment of sound — the faintest possible transmission of something much larger. Eliphaz is claiming visionary authority: a revelation received beyond normal means, positioning what follows as divine disclosure rather than personal opinion. FOG preserves the thief-like stealth; FOG Message opts for 'in secret,' capturing the hiddenness while remaining idiomatic.
