Surely no one strikes a man who is already in ruins — and doesn't everyone cry out when disaster falls?
Surely against a ruined heap no one stretches out his hand; and in disaster, does not one cry for help?
Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.
Yet no one stretches out his hand against a ruined man when he cries for help in his distress.
