מִבְּכִי נְהָרוֹת (*mibki neharot*, 'from the weeping/dripping of rivers') is a striking image: underground water seeping through mine shafts must be dammed before the ore can be extracted. The word בְּכִי (*beki*) is the common Hebrew word for weeping and tears throughout the Psalms and Lamentations — so the rivers are not merely 'trickling' but quite literally weeping. FOG reads the image materially (rivers that seep); FOG Message honours the emotional resonance of rivers that weep and are silenced — a detail with typological depth when read alongside Revelation 21:4.
