The verb *shoteh* ("drinks") applied to *avlah* ("injustice/wickedness") is viscerally powerful: wickedness is not merely committed but consumed, craved, absorbed as naturally as water. The pairing *nit'av ve-ne'elach* ("detestable and corrupt") heaps up the language of ritual filth and moral putrefaction. *Ne'elach* is rare, implying something utterly spoiled—like rancid food. Together they paint not a sinner but a creature thoroughly marinated in moral corruption.
