*Mapach nephesh* (breathing out of life/expiration) is the haunting close of Zophar's speech. *Nephesh* — throat/life/breath/being — is the very organ and essence of living. *Mapach* means a puffing out, an exhalation, the last breath escaping. Their hope, Zophar says, is nothing but the moment life expires. FOG renders 'last breath of the throat' to preserve the physical, visceral force of *nephesh* as the breathing-organ. FOG Message renders 'final, dying breath' for full existential immediacy — making the closure land as Zophar intends: cold, total, and irreversible.
