The address to women (נָשִׁים, *nashim*) gives them a central teaching role in Israel's community of lament — a direct parallel to the Torah-transmission role of Deut. 6, where covenant instruction is passed from generation to generation. Just as fathers were commanded to teach Torah to their children, here women are commanded to teach lament to their daughters. They are not passive mourners but active custodians of Israel's covenantal memory in its darkest hour.
