He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

מִפִּי (*mippi*, lit. "from my mouth") is a precise scribal formula indicating direct oral dictation, not summary or paraphrase. Baruch's role is that of the ancient secretary-scribe: faithful transmitter of an authoritative spoken word. The identical phrase recurs in vv. 17–18, 27, and 32, forming a literary spine through the chapter—each repetition emphasising that the words belong to YHWH, not to Jeremiah or Baruch. FOG: "from Yirmeyahu's own mouth"; FOG Message: "from Jeremiah's own lips."
