תַּמְרוּרִים (*tamrurim*) in v.15 = "bitter weeping"; here the same word = "road markers/signposts." This wordplay is among the most arresting in the chapter: Rachel's tears, described by the word *tamrurim*, now become the very markers that guide Israel home. Grief is transfigured into guide. צִיֻּנִים (*tziyyunim*) = cairns or stone pillars erected to mark a route. שׁוּבִי שׁוּבִי (*shubi shubi*) = "return, return" — the double imperative of repentance and homecoming. FOG renders "waymarkers" to preserve the ancient road-marker sense; FOG Message uses "guideposts" for clarity.
