שָׁמֹועַ שָׁמַעְתִּי (*shamo'a shama'ti*) = "I have truly/fully heard" — the Hebraic intensifying infinitive absolute; YHWH does not merely notice but hears with total attention. מִתְנֹודֵד (*mitnoded*) = "swaying/rocking" — the embodied gesture of grief. הֲשִׁיבֵנִי וְאָשׁוּבָה (*hashiveni ve'ashuva*) = "return me that I may return" — a profound grammatical statement of grace: Ephraim cannot return to YHWH without first being returned by YHWH. Divine initiative precedes and enables human response. This is the grammar of grace embedded in the Hebrew verb. FOG preserves "bring me back that I may return"; FOG Message makes the sequence explicit.
