The chapter closes with the most economical sentence in the book: no cause of death, no mourning, no commentary—only the bare fact. The confrontation began in the fifth month (v. 1); Chananyah died in the seventh month—within two months of Yirmeyahu's sentence. The two-month gap between word and fulfilment is itself a kind of testimony: brief enough to be unmistakable, long enough not to be a coincidence. Remarkably, the narrator retains the title "the prophet" (*hanavi*) for Chananyah even in his death notice—the text does not strip it, but the reality of his death strips it for him. FOG and FOG Message mirror each other in restraint here, both honouring the Hebrew's silence as its own most powerful argument.
