The Exodus oath formula — "As YHWH lives, who brought Israel up from Egypt" — was the bedrock of Israelite covenantal identity, the supreme statement of who YHWH is and what He has done (cf. Deuteronomy 6:20–23). That Jeremiah envisions this formula being *replaced* is extraordinary: the coming ingathering will so eclipse the first Exodus that even the defining covenant oath must be updated. The Exodus is not erased but *superseded* — a trajectory the New Testament picks up as the final Exodus accomplished through Messiah.
