The גֵּיא בֶן-הִנֹּם (*Ge Ben-Hinnom*) — Valley of the Son of Hinnom — is the ravine south of Yerushalayim where child sacrifice to Molech had been practised at the Topheth. Its later Aramaic form, Gehenna, becomes the New Covenant's primary image of fiery eschatological judgment (cf. Matt. 5:22). The שַׁעַר הַחַרְסִית (*Sha'ar HaHarsith*, Potsherd Gate) likely took its name from the broken pottery dumped in the valley below — a grimly fitting location for a message centred on a shattered jar. FOG preserves the Hebraic transliteration; FOG Message retains "Valley of Ben-Hinnom" as a proper name while positioning the reader to hear its future weight as Gehenna.
