It is Jean Paul's lifelong work, unfolding in public — and you're invited in.

Jean Paul Joseph is the lead editor of the F.O.G Bible Project. He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

The Hebrew בַּקְבֻּק (*baqbuq*) is an onomatopoeic word mimicking the gurgling sound of liquid poured from a narrow-necked clay jar — you can almost hear it. The choice of this specific vessel is the crux of the entire sign-act: it is fragile, irreplaceable once shattered, unlike the pliable clay on the potter's wheel of ch. 18. That contrast is deliberate — Yisra'el is no longer shapeable; judgment is now fixed. FOG renders "clay flask" to preserve its pottery specificity and echo the gurgling sound of its name; FOG Message uses "clay jar" for natural readability.
