*Miqwēh* — 'hope/gathering' — is the same word used in Gen. 1:10 for the 'gathering' of the waters. As a title for God, it carries the sense of the One in Whom Israel's future pools and converges — the reservoir of all expectation. The image of YHWH as a passing traveller (*'ōrēaḥ*) who only stays overnight is an audacious lament-accusation: Israel's eternal God is behaving like a short-term guest with no investment in the land. FOG preserves 'Hope' as the divine title in full; FOG Message adds 'seem like' to honour the rhetorical nature of the challenge without reducing it to a theological statement about God's actual absence.
