How long must the land grieve, and every blade of field grass wither and die? The animals and birds have perished because of the wickedness of those living in it — and still the people boast, 'God doesn't see what our end will be.'
How long shall the land mourn, and every field's grass wither? The animals and birds have been swept away — because of the evil of those who dwell in it. Yet they say, 'He will not see what becomes of us.'
How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
How long will the land mourn and the grass of every field be withered? Because of the evil of its residents, the animals and birds have been swept away, for the people have said, “He cannot see what our end will be.”
