Berean Standard BibleWe all growl like bears and moan like doves. We hope for justice, but find none, for salvation, but it is far from us.
Footnotes
The bear's growl is guttural, almost animal in its desperation; the dove's moan is soft and plaintive—together they span the full emotional register of communal anguish. The Hebrew *yeshu'ah* (salvation/deliverance) is retained in FOG because it shares the same root as the name *Yeshua*—a thread the reader is meant to feel. Isaiah uses *yeshu'ah* with pointed frequency (twelve times in chs. 49–62), building a crescendo that culminates in the naming of the one who embodies it. FOG Message renders 'salvation' to make the theological content explicit.
