*Saris* (eunuch) was explicitly excluded from the assembly of YHWH under Deuteronomy 23:1, making this passage a stunning reversal of Torah exclusion law. The eunuch's lament — 'I am a withered tree' — uses the image of a tree unable to bear fruit and leave descendants, evoking the ancient shame of childlessness and the theological dread of being 'cut off' from the covenant people. Isaiah 56 answers that exclusion directly; and Yeshua's words in Matthew 19:12 and the Ethiopian eunuch's baptism in Acts 8 are the New Covenant fulfilment of precisely this promise.
