The identification of the individual Servant as *Yisra'el* while he speaks as a distinct person (vv. 1–2, 4–5) is the great exegetical tension of the passage. Since vv. 5–6 make the Servant's task the *restoration* of Israel, he cannot simply be the nation corporately. The most coherent reading is that the Servant embodies and recapitulates Israel's identity and vocation — the true Israelite who succeeds where the nation failed. *Etpa'ar* ("I will be glorified/beautified") carries the root *pe'er* — ornament, crown, splendour — as if the Servant is YHWH's own adornment worn before the watching world. FOG preserves the Hebrew name *Yisra'el*; FOG Message uses the familiar form "Israel" within the typological reading.
