The warrior imagery (*gibbor*, גִּבּוֹר — 'mighty warrior') deliberately contrasts with the Servant's quiet gentleness in vv.2–3. The God who will not break a bruised reed now charges into battle with a *teruah* war-shout (*yari'a*, יָרִיעַ — the same word as the shofar-blast at Sinai and Jericho). *Kin'ah* (קִנְאָה), 'burning zeal,' carries both passionate intensity and the jealous exclusivity of covenant love — YHWH's fierce drive to vindicate His people and His name. FOG renders 'burning zeal' to honour both dimensions; FOG Message uses 'fierce zeal' to capture the heat without sacrificing the covenant resonance.
