Footnotes
The Hebrew *hacharishu* ('fall silent/be still') is a legal summons — YHWH opens a divine courtroom session. *Iyyim* ('coastlands/islands') refers to the far-flung Mediterranean peoples at the edge of the known world, standing in for the nations at large. The call to 'renew strength' (*yachalifú koach*) uses the same verb as the soaring eagles of 40:31 — the nations are given every opportunity to mount their defence before the verdict falls. FOG preserves the adversarial courtroom drama with its clipped commands; FOG Message draws out the visceral tension of being summoned before the Creator.
