*Qadosh* (קָדוֹשׁ, "Holy One") is Isaiah's signature divine title — used some 25 times in this book as *Qedosh Yisra'el* ("the Holy One of Israel"). *Qadosh* means fundamentally "set apart," "other," "utterly distinct from all created things" — it is the quality that makes comparison not merely difficult but categorically impossible. The rhetorical question of v.18 and v.25 forms a deliberate bracket around the entire idol-polemic, insisting that incomparability is not pious rhetoric but the most foundational divine attribute. FOG retains *Qadosh* to foreground its semantic range; FOG Message uses "Holy One" for liturgical impact.
