"Let your name be called over us" uses the idiom of a husband's name covering his wife — essentially a plea for marriage without the customary obligation on the man to provide. The social horror behind this is the mass death of men in war (flowing directly from 3:25), leaving women so desperate they waive their legal rights for the bare social protection of a married name. Cherpah ("reproach/disgrace") carries the full weight of social shame — childlessness, widowhood, and vulnerability all compressed into one word.
