The comparison *k’mo davah* (כְּמוֹ דָוָה, “like something unclean”) uses the most intimate language of ritual impurity to describe the repudiation of idols—what was most treasured becomes utterly repulsive. The verb *tizrem* (תִּזְרֵם, “you will scatter/toss”) is used of scattering chaff in the wind. True repentance here is visceral, not merely intellectual: what once held the heart is thrown away as refuse, accompanied by a verbal dismissal that mirrors the casting-out of a defiled object.
