How completely upside-down! As if the clay could be counted the same as the potter—as if the thing that was made could say of its maker, 'He didn't make me,' or the shaped vessel could say of the One who shaped it, 'He has no idea what He's doing.'
What a perversion of things! Shall the potter be reckoned as the clay—that the crafted thing says of its craftsman, 'He did not make me,' or the formed vessel says of its former, 'He has no understanding'?
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
You have turned things upside down, as if the potter were regarded as clay. Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, “He did not make me”? Can the pottery say of the potter, “He has no understanding”?
