Both battle references — Har-Peratzim (2 Sam. 5:20, where YHWH burst through enemies for David) and the Valley of Giv'on (Josh. 10:10–12, where the sun stood still for Israel) — were legendary *victories for Israel*. The shattering reversal here is that YHWH now deploys that same divine power *against* His own people. מַעֲשֵׂהוּ זָר (*ma'asehu zar*, 'His strange/alien work') and נָכְרִיָּה (*nokriyyah*, 'foreign') signal YHWH's discomfort in this role — judging Israel is foreign to the grain of His covenant-love (hesed). FOG preserves the Hebrew place names and the double emphasis on strangeness; FOG Message doubles the adjectives ('strange and alien / startling, foreign') to amplify the theological shock of God fighting His own.
