The agent of judgment is grammatically ambiguous — the 'mighty and strong one' (*chazaq ve'ammitz*) may be the Assyrian army or an angelic agent. The triple storm imagery — hail, tempest, flood — stacks three ANE images of divine warfare in quick succession. אֲדֹנָי (*Adonai*, Lord) is used here rather than YHWH, emphasising sovereign authority over the nations. Both translations preserve the triple force; FOG Message leans into the theological framing of God as military commander deploying His instrument.
