Footnotes
אָבְלָה נָבְלָה (avlah navlah) — 'mourns and withers' — is a near-rhyme in Hebrew that creates a lamenting, falling cadence matching the content. תֵּבֵל (tevel) is the inhabited world in its ordered, productive, and civilised sense — distinct from ha'aretz (the physical earth) — pointing to the collapse not just of terrain but of human society and culture. FOG preserves the sonic wordplay with repeated rhyming verbs; FOG Message draws out the social dimension by naming the proud and lofty who fall hardest.
