The oracle closes with the formula *ki YHWH Elohei Yisrael dibber* ("for YHWH, the God of Israel, has spoken") — the prophetic seal of absolute certainty. It is striking that an oracle concerning an Arabian tribal federation entirely outside the covenant is nonetheless authorised by Yisrael's covenant God, signalling YHWH's sovereign jurisdiction over all nations without exception. The *qeshet giborei* ("archers of the mighty men") — Kedar's elite warriors and their defining weapon — are reduced to a *shear mispar* ("remnant in number"), a phrase used elsewhere of Israel's own reduction under judgement (Isa. 10:19), creating a haunting intertextual irony: the nations experience what Israel has endured. FOG preserves "the Elohim of Yisrael" as the covenantal title; FOG Message uses "the God of Israel" while rendering *qeshet giborei* as "proud bowmen" to capture both martial identity and the hubris now deflated.
