לַחְפַּרְפְּרוֹת וְלָעֲטַלֱּפִים (lachaffarporot vela'atalefim, "to the moles and to the bats") carries profound irony: the idols painstakingly crafted to receive human worship are flung to creatures that live in underground darkness and cave-holes — precisely where humanity is now hiding from the true God. The very places of refuge (caves, holes, rocks) now receive the discarded gods. The idol's journey from altar to animal burrow is the final humiliation of manufactured religion.
