*Me'ai* (מֵעַי, 'my inner parts / my bowels') is the Hebrew seat of the deepest human emotion — what we would call gut-level grief, the place where sorrow physically registers. The *kinnor* (כִּנּוֹר) is the lyre or harp — David's own instrument — and its vibrating strings become a metaphor for the prophet's trembling, grief-wracked interior. The combination is extraordinary: YHWH's prophet mourns in his gut for a pagan enemy nation standing under divine judgment. This is not detached proclamation but embodied lament, characteristic of the greatest Hebrew prophets.
