Footnotes
*Miqtseh hashamayim* ('from the edge of the skies') reflects the ancient cosmological picture of the sky as a solid dome with a rim — armies could conceptually descend from its horizon-boundary. FOG renders *shamayim* as 'skies' to honour this physical cosmology; FOG Message uses 'heavens' to preserve the theological elevation of the phrase. *Keley za'amo* ('instruments/vessels of His fury') is striking: the armies are not independent actors but implements in YHWH's hand — tools of judgment, like axe or saw (cf. Isa. 10:15).
