Three elements carry exceptional weight. First, דָּוִיד מַלְכָּם (David malekam — "David their king"): Hosea prophesied to the northern kingdom which had no Davidic king, making this reference eschatological — a future reunification under a Davidic ruler that the New Covenant writers apply to Yeshua/Jesus. Second, פָּחֲדוּ אֶל-יְהוָה (pachadū el-YHWH): the preposition אֶל ("toward") is unusual with pachad (to tremble/fear) and transforms the posture — this is awe that draws near rather than terror that flees. Third, אַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים (acharit hayamim — "latter days") is a fixed eschatological formula throughout the Hebrew prophets denoting ultimate Messianic restoration; F.O.G preserves the prophetic register, F.O.G Message uses "days yet to come" for emotional immediacy.
