Na'ar (נַעַר) means a young boy or child, locating Israel's 'childhood' in the Exodus era. The clause 'out of Egypt I called My son' is directly quoted in Matthew 2:15 as fulfilled in Jesus, making this a dual-referent text spanning Israel's corporate exodus and the Messiah who recapitulates Israel's story.
