גֶּפֶן בּוֹקֵק (gepen boqeq) — "boqeq" derives from a root meaning to pour out or empty, giving the image of a vine that lavishly produces yet keeps everything for itself. Both versions retain "spreading vine" for the agricultural vividness but draw out the ironic self-serving quality differently. מַצֵּבוֹת (matstsevot) are standing stones — originally legitimate covenant memorials (Gen 28:18) but here condemned as idolatrous cult markers; prosperity fuels apostasy rather than gratitude.
