ἀγνοημάτων ("unintentional sins / sins of ignorance") is rooted in ἀγνοέω ("not to know"). The Levitical system explicitly provided atonement only for sins committed unwittingly (Numbers 15:27–29); deliberate, "high-handed" sins had no sacrificial remedy under Torah. The author's point is sharp: even the best the old system could offer — covering sins of ignorance — required blood annually repeated. F.O.G renders it "unintentional sins" to emphasise inadvertence; F.O.G Message uses "sins of ignorance" to preserve the root and underscore the theological limit of the old order.
