βέβηλος derives from the word for threshold (βηλός) — literally one who steps across into forbidden ground, treating holy things as ordinary or tradeable. F.O.G. renders it "profane" (its cultural-legal meaning); F.O.G. Message expands it as "treats sacred things as worthless" to make the Esau connection vivid. Whether πόρνος and βέβηλος both describe Esav or represent two separate warning types is debated; the grammar most naturally applies both to Esav as an exemplary type.
