τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν τοῦ Χριστοῦ — "the reproach of the Messiah/Christ" — is one of the most theologically charged phrases in the chapter. The author identifies Moshe's suffering not merely as suffering for Israel but as participation in the Messiah's own reproach — projecting the Messiah's identity backward into the Exodus narrative. This is consistent with Paul's reading in 1 Cor 10:4 ("the Rock was Messiah"). FOG renders "Messiah" to preserve the Jewish-messianic framing; FOG Message uses "Christ" as the Greek title, and the capitalisation in both versions signals the same person — the Anointed One whose reproach echoes across all of redemptive history.
