Footnotes
Parrēsia (παρρησία) in classical Greek denotes the freedom of speech belonging to a full citizen—the right to speak openly in the public assembly, holding nothing back. In this liturgical context it describes not merely emotional boldness but positional legitimacy: the right of full access, the confidence of one who belongs. The FOG renders it "bold access" to foreground the freedom of entry; the FOG Message renders it "bold confidence" to capture the relational posture. The plural τῶν ἁγίων ("the holy places") is the genitive referring to the innermost sanctuary—the space only the high priest could enter once a year on Yom Kippur.
