You have planted much but harvested little. You eat, but you're never full. You drink, but you're never satisfied. You put on clothes, but you can't keep warm. You earn wages, only to drop them into a purse with holes in it.
You have sown much but brought in little; you eat but are never full; you drink but are never satisfied; you clothe yourselves but no one is warm; and whoever earns wages earns them into a bag full of holes.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
