Shimakha ("your hearing/report") refers to what Habakkuk has heard about YHWH — His reputation and past mighty acts — rather than a direct divine communication; the F.O.G renders this concretely as "report," the F.O.G Message as "fame," drawing out its covenantal renown. Berogez (typically "in wrath") also carries the range of agitation and trembling; the petition that follows uses rachem — rooted in rechem ("womb") — a visceral, maternal tenderness. The F.O.G renders this "compassion" for its bodily warmth; the F.O.G Message uses the traditional "mercy."
