נִשְׁמַת-רוּחַ חַיִּים בְּאַפָּיו (nishmat-ruach chayyim be'apav) — the doubled breath-language (nishmat + ruach, "breath of spirit of life in his nostrils") is the most direct echo of Gen 2:7 in the entire flood account. Additionally, חָרָבָה (charavah, "dry ground") anticipates Ex 14:21, where YHWH drives back the sea to create dry ground for Israel's passage — the same word used to signal both judgment and salvation.
