עֵינְכֶם אַל-תָּחֹס (eineikhem al-tahos), "do not let your eye have pity/spare," is a distinctly Hebrew idiom expressing reluctance born of emotional attachment—the "eye" that "spares" something cannot bring itself to abandon it (cf. Deut. 7:16; Ezek. 9:5). The F.O.G. preserves the literal idiom ("do not let your eye spare"), keeping the physicality intact; the F.O.G. Message renders the underlying intent ("do not give a second thought to"), prioritising the emotional logic for a modern reader. Pharaoh's point is that Egypt's abundance makes any clinging to Canaanite goods entirely irrational.
