Shet (Seth) derives from shat ("to set/place/appoint") — Chavah reads the name as divine appointment. The word zera ("seed") is the same term deployed in the proto-evangelium of Genesis 3:15 ("between your seed and her seed"). Chavah's naming speech quietly positions Seth as the continuation of the promised redemptive seed-line running toward Noah, Abraham, and ultimately Messiah. The F.O.G. renders "seed" to preserve this intertextual freight; the F.O.G. Message renders "child" for natural readability.
