מַצֵּבָה (matzevah) — a "standing stone" or sacred pillar, a monumental marker of divine encounter — the same type Ya'akov erected at Beit-El in Genesis 28:18. Later Mosaic law prohibits the matzevah when co-opted into Canaanite worship (Deuteronomy 16:22), but here it is a legitimate memorial of covenant theophany. נֶסֶךְ (nesekh) — a libation or drink offering — the same term used for the priestly offerings of the Tabernacle system (Numbers 15:1–12); this is proto-liturgical worship born directly from encounter, anticipating the later sacrificial order.
