קְשִׂיטָה (kesitah) is an archaic monetary unit of unknown precise value, appearing only three times in the entire Hebrew Bible: here, in Job 42:11, and in Joshua 24:32 — where Joshua explicitly recounts this very purchase. Its etymology may connect to a word for "lamb," suggesting it could represent a lamb's worth of silver. FOG retains the transliteration to honour the ancient specificity and signal to the reader that something untranslatable is present; FOG Message uses "pieces of silver" as the most accessible English equivalent, accepting the loss of that precision.
