"הֲשָׁלוֹם לוֹ" — lit. "Is there shalom to him?" — is far richer than "Is he well?" Shalom (שָׁלוֹם) denotes wholeness, completeness, flourishing. F.O.G retains "shalom" to honour its semantic weight; F.O.G Message renders the natural English equivalent. The hinneh ("look!") signals a dramatic, real-time arrival — Rachel appears at the precise moment of inquiry.
