אֵל עוֹלָם (El Olam): The first occurrence of this divine name in Scripture. Olam can mean eternity (time without end) or the ancient ages (the far-receding past); El Olam thus designates the God whose faithfulness spans all of time — before and beyond human reckoning. The F.O.G preserves the Hebrew title so the reader encounters the name in its raw form; the F.O.G Message renders "the Everlasting God" to make the theological weight immediately accessible to English ears. אֵשֶׁל (eshel): The tamarisk tree specifically (Tamarix species) was renowned in the ancient Near East for its deep roots, resilience in arid soil, and generous shade.
