The grammatical shift in the third pair is deliberate and theologically charged. The first two pairs use "neither…nor" (οὐκ…οὐδέ), but the third shifts to "male and female" (ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ, with kaí not oudé), precisely reproducing the LXX phrasing of Genesis 1:27 ("male and female He created them") — the only place in the New Testament where this exact phrase appears. Paul is not abolishing the male-female distinction but invoking the original creation order, declaring that in Messiah a new-creation unity is established that transcends the divisions introduced by the Fall and reaches back to humanity's shared imaging of God.
