Then Ezra withdrew from the courtyard of God's house and went to the room of Johanan son of Eliashib. He spent the night there, eating and drinking nothing, still in mourning over the faithlessness of the returned exiles.
Then Ezra withdrew from before the house of Elohim and went into the chamber of Yehokhanan ben Elyashiv; and when he arrived there, he ate no bread and drank no water, for he was mourning over the treachery of the returning exiles.
Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
Then Ezra withdrew from before the house of God and walked to the chamber of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. And while he stayed there, he ate no food and drank no water, because he was mourning over the unfaithfulness of the exiles.
