Machalapim ('knives') is debated: some ancient versions render it 'changes of garments' or 'censers,' but the weight of modern scholarship favours sacrificial knives used in Temple ritual preparation. The careful enumeration of individual sacred objects underscores their status as covenantal artefacts — each one a memory of interrupted worship and a pledge of its restoration. FOG and FOG Message both render 'knives' here, with FOG Message adding 'ceremonial' to signal the ritual context.
